PURPOSE:To obtain the subject fiber excellent in water absorption performance and hand by including a polyoxyalkylene glycol, etc., in a polyester and forming the resultant mixture into fiber of cross section with a specific flatness. CONSTITUTION:The objective fiber, obtained by adding (B) 0.2-10.0wt.% high- molecular weight polyoxyalkylene glycol having preferably >=1,000 molecular weight without any reactivity with the component (A) and (C) 0.1-5.0wt.% metal sulfonate derivative expressed by the formula (M is alkali metal; R is >=8C alkyl) to (A) a polyester prepared by polymerizing terephthalic acid and a 2-6C aliphatic diol, spinning and drawing the resultant mixture and having a flat cross section and 1.5-15 ratio (L/W) of the maximum length (L) to the maximum width (W) thereof. |
