Use of S,S'-ethylidene di:thioacetate (I) as perfuming or flavouring ingredient is new. Also claimed is a perfuming composition or perfumed product (II) containing (I), a flavouring composition or flavoured product (III) containing (I) in a pure form and without any of the naturally occurring substances present in the juice of blood oranges and a method of conferring, improving or modifying the fruity taste of a flavouring composition or flavoured product which comprises the addition of (I). (II) is preferably a perfume, an eau de toilette, a soap, a bath or shower gel, a shampoo or other hair-care product, a cosmetic composition, a deodorant or air-freshener, a detergent or fabric softener or a cleaning product. (III) contains 10-50 ppb (I). (III) is a drink, chewing gum or a pharmaceutical composition. |
