A tread ring transfer apparatus for use in a green tyre building system adapted for holding and transferring a tyre component which is formed in a cylindrical shape has a ring shaped holder frame (20); and a plurality of holding segments (22) provided along a circumferential direction of the holder frame (20) and radially movable inwardly and outwardly to hold and release the tyre component respectively.
