摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain high contrast by disposing a transparent electrode on one transparent substrate and a color display layer consisting of a light transmissive colored layer and light shielding layer thereon successively toward an oriented film. CONSTITUTION:The transparent electrode 4 is disposed on one transparent substrate 2 of a transmission type liquid crystal display device having a liquid crystal layer 11 between the transparent substrates 1 and 2 facing each other and the oriented films 7, 8 disposed therebetween and the color display layer consisting of the light transmissive colored layer 6 and the light shielding layer is disposed thereon toward the oriented film 8. Deflecting plates 9, 9 for the purpose of providing a negative display are deposited on the outside thereof and transparent electrode films to be formed with patterns of characters and pictures are deposited and formed on the substrates 1, 2 so that segment electrodes 3 and a common electrode 4 are formed. The transmission type liquid crystal color display device into which the color display layer is incorporated is thereby obtd. and further, the positional deviation of the light shielding layer and the light transmission type colored layer on the same plane is entirely obviated.
