<p>PURPOSE: To provide a golf ball capable of having a high flying performance and enhance its appearance, by specifying the sum total of the contour lengths of non-circular dimples, and specifying the sum total of the recess volumes of all dimples including non-circular ones. CONSTITUTION: The sum total of the contour lengths of non-circular dimples having a contour length of no less than 15mm is made over 30% of the sum total of the contour lengths of all dimples. The sum total of the recess volumes of non-circular dimples having a contour length of no less than 15mm is made 0.5-1.5% of the sphere volume of the ball. For example, five non-circular dimples 21 in the form of approx. an arrowhead are provided radially around each crest of a spherical surface triangle 1. Sixty non-circular dimples 21 in the form of arrowhead and twenty two-grooved dimples 22 and 23 are provided on the spherical surface, and thereby the sum total of the contour lengths of non-circular dimples having a contour length of no less than 15mm is made identical to 100% of the sum total of the contour lengths of all dimples, and the recess total volume rate VR of these non-circular dimples is made between 0.5 and 1.5%.</p> |
