The device has means for sensing electrical signals of the heart consisting of a neutral electrode 15 and a positive electrode 16 incorporated in a rear part of a substantially parallelepipedal box 1, and a negative electrode 12 incorporated in a lateral part of said box 1, for contact with one of the patient's fingers, means for converting the electrical signals into acoustic signals, and means for transmitting the acoustic signals by telephonic means, which comprise a loudspeaker 2 arranged in a front part of the box 1. It also comprises a memory for storing data. It enables the patient to record data relating to the electrocardiogram in a simple and immediate manner, at any time, and subsequently to transmit them via telephonic means. It makes it possible to obtain morphologically conventional recordings without the need for external electrodes, cables or suction cups. <IMAGE>
