PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a low-cost absorbent which can be easily handled and efficiently filters/absorbs matter under applied pressure by baking a mixture of a carbon material made of a combustion residue of a rubber product waste and a ceramic material at a specific ratio, in the form of a granule. SOLUTION: A mixture of a carbon material made of a combustion residue of a rubber product waste and a ceramic material at a specific ratio is baked into a granule. That is, this baked granular composition is obtained by backing a composition containing a mixture of a carbon material made of the combustion residue of the rubber product waste and a ceramic material at a specific ratio (volumetric ratio) of (10:90) to (60:40). The carbon material is obtained by burning the waste material of a rubber product such as a waste tire or a carbon black. The ceramic material is a mixture of Kibushi clay, bentonite, pumice stone and glass powder. The mixing ratio of this ceramic mixture is not particularly specified but should preferably be 33-55vol.% of Kibushi clay, 10-30vol.% of bentonite, 5-15vol.% of pumice stone and 20-40vol.% of glass powder. |
