On a manually operated reciprocating liquid pump comprising a plunger (16) mounted for reciprocating movement between charge and discharge positions in a pump housing (14) a lock mechanism (18) on the pump selectively locks the plunger in its charge and discharge positions relative to the pump housing (14). Seals (58, 68) are also provided that prevent leakage through the pump when the plunger is in its charge and discharge positions.
