A small vacuum cleaner or dust extractor has an electric motor blower combination 8 with a plastic suction tube 9 coupled to it. A circuit board 23 containing the components for operation of the system is supported via a bracket on an aluminium heat-sink (11) that is cooled by the air flow generated by the vacuum cleaner. The heat-sink has a tubular section that fits into the main air-flow tube and has a projecting bracket 19 fixed to the circuit board (23).
