The present invention relates to novel tetrahydropyrimidine derivatives of the formula (I) in which A is a group (Ia) -(CH2)m -COXR<1> or (Ib); Het is a five- or six-membered heterocyclic group containing 1, 2, 3 or 4 nitrogen atoms and/or one or two oxygen or sulphur atoms as hetero-atom ring components, where the number of hetero-atoms is 1, 2, 3 or 4, and which may be substituted by halogen, cyano, nitro, alkyl, alkyl halide, alkenyl, alkenyl halide, alkinyl, alkoxy, alkoxy halide, alkenyloxy, alkenyloxy halide, alkinyloxy, alkyl thio, alkyl thio halide, alkenyl thio, alkenyl thio halide, alkinyl thio, alkyl sulphinyl, alkyl sulphinyl halide, alkyl sulphonyl, alkyl sulphonyl halide, amino, alkyl amino, dialkyl amino, aryl, aryloxy, aryl thio, aryl amino, aralkyl, formyl amino, alkyl carbonyl amino, formyl, carbamoyl, alkyl carbamoyl, alkyl carbamoyl and/or alkoxy carbonyl; R<1> is hydrogen, alkyl, alkyl halide, alkenyl, alkyl halide, alkenyl, alkenyl halide, possible substituted aralkyl or possible substituted heterocyclyl alkyl; R<2> is possibly substituted alkyl or aralkyl; X is oxygen or the groups -NH- and -N-alkyl-; m is a whole number from 1 to 20; and n is a whole number from 0 to 2; in which compounds are excepted in which A is the group (Ia), Het is (1), R<1> is hydrogen or ethyl, X is oxygen, m is 1 or 2 and n is 0. The invention also relates to a process for their production and their use as pesticides.
