METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DECONTAMINATION AND DESTRUCTION OF HOSPITAL SOLID WASTES

Waste (22) is loaded into a gasification chamber (1) above a grate (8) linking it to a postcombustion chamber (7). A gasifying agent is fed into the gasification chamber (1) and postcombustion air is fed into the chamber (7) via an inlet (9). The gasifying agent is fed in through two inlets of which one (4) first feeds the gasifying agent through a waste drying area (2), while the other (5) feeds it directly into a gasification area (3). A heat exchanger (15) in the postcombustion chamber (7) heats the secondary air (9) as well as air (17) fed into the gasification chamber (1) at the end of the process in order to disinfect it. Small units in hospitals and clinics may thus be provided.
