摘要 PURPOSE:To develop the sealing performance at low temperature and permit the installation to an integrally molded seal groove by installing a low temperature elasticity holding spring which is made of metal and does not lose elasticity at low temperature and has two cut parts or more on the circumference, in the groove of a seal body which is made of ruber and has a nearly U-figure shaped section. CONSTITUTION:A seal S for low temperature is constituted of a seal body 1 which has a nearly U-figure shaped section and is made of the rubber material which possesses the elasticity permitting the sufficiently large extension and contraction at the normal temperature and a low temperature elasticity holding spring 3 which is made of metal and installed into the groove 2. The spring 3 is not continuous on the whole periphery and cut at two cut parts C or more. Accordingly, the seal can be installed at the normal temperature on an integral type seal groove 8 (even if different from a divided seal groove) which is formed integrally with the shaft part 7 of a piston, etc., in spite of the fact that the metal spring 3 is provided.
