The present invention provides a feed supplement composition for animals, particularly equines, which incorporates a herb or herb mixture. The herb may be selected from camomile, comfrey, dandelion, yarrow, lavender, mint, garlic, clover, nettle, seaweed, oregano, basil, thyme, fenugreek, fennel seed and liquorice powder or other desired herbs. The composition is particularly suitable for free-choice feeding to animals, both in field and when housed. It is palatable and water-resistant, being prepared from a mixture of molasses and calcium oxide. The supplement of the invention is useful for administration to horses, including mares, colts and yearlings. |
