PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new antibody subject to specific immunoreaction to human TIMP-3, and useful for quantification and specific and highly sensitive detection of TIMP-3 at protein level, diagnosis of the presence/absence of cancer cells and cencer malignancy, purification of TIMP-3, etc. SOLUTION: This antibody is a new monoclonal antibody subject to specific immunoreaction to a domain containing part or the whole of an amino acid sequence in human TIMP-3 protein, expressed by formula I, II, III, etc., being useful for quantification, specific and highly sensitive detection of TIMP-3 having the activity inhibitory action for matrix-metalloprotease playing a part in ECM(Extracellular matrix) metabolism control, diagnosis of the presence/ absence of cancer cells and cancer malignancy, purification of TIMP-3, etc. This antibody is obtained by the following process: a BALB/c mouse is administered with human TIMP-3 and immunized, and after the final immunization, the splenocytes are sampled and fused with myeloma cells, and the resultant hybridoma is monocloned and then cultured to produce the objective antibody. |
