PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fire resistance, increase productivity, and reduce the cost by covering a conductor with a silicone compound containing a platinum compound and a ceramic agent. SOLUTION: This fire-resistant electric wire is constituted of a conductor 1, a fire-resistant layer 2 formed when the conductor 1 is protrusion-covered with a silicone compound, an insulator 3 formed on the fire-resistant layer 2 by extrusion coating, and a sheath 4 provided on the insulator 3. A platinum compound and a ceramic agent are blended into base polymer silicone to form the silicone compound constituting the fire-resistant layer 2. The platinum compound function as the flame retarder of the base polymer silicone, the combustion residue of the silicone compound is made a dense solid object by the interaction with the ceramic agent at the time of combustion, and the drop from the conductor 1 is prevented. The added quantity of the ceramic agent is set to the range of 10-1000 pts.wt. against the base polymer silicone of 100 pts.wt. The above action cannot be expected below this range, and the kneading work and extruding work become infeasible above this range. |
