<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an Li-Mn ferrite carrier contg. no harmful element and giving an image having high image quality by imparting a basic compsn. consisting of Li2 O, MnO and Fe2 O3 in a specified molar ratio and specifying magnetization in a magnetic field and average particle diameter. SOLUTION: This ferrite carrier has a basic compsn. consisting of, by mol, 5-15% Li2 O, 8-30% MnO and 60-90% Fe2 O3 . and has 15-60emu/g magnetizationσ1 ,000 in a magnetic field of 1,000Oe and 10-150μm average particle diameter. In the case of <15emu/g magnetization, attraction to a developer supporting means is reduced, sticking is liable to occur and defects such as voids in an image is caused. In the case of >60emu/g, halftone reproducibility is deteriorated. In the case of <10μm average particle diameter, the carrier is liable to stick to the surface of a photoreceptor. In the case of >150μm, an image itself is made rough.</p> |
