PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To monitor the temperature and humidity of an image forming device without installing many dedicated temperature and humidity sensors and to form an image high in image quality by altering image forming conditions based on the detection result of a voltage detection means, and carrying out optimum image formation. SOLUTION: A primary transfer power source 7 uses a 15μA low-current control type. In the case the voltage applied from the primary transfer power source 7 to a primary transfer roll is 4kV or above, it is set as low temperature and low humidity, and in the case the voltage is 1kV or below, it is set as high temperature and high humidity, then this primary transfer roll 3 is used as a temperature and humidity sensor. Based on this setting and the voltage detection signal of the voltage detection means 25, an image forming condition adjustment means 26 controls the amount of the laser beam L of a latent-image writing means 27 to stabilize the surface potential of a photoreceptive drum 1 after exposure. Thus, the image forming condition is controlled so as to be made optimum to the temperature and humidity changes and a satisfactory image can be obtained at all times. |
