CONTROL METHOD FOR PICTURE DISPLAY SCREEN FOR CONDUCTING HALFTONE DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to operate pixels in two stable state, to be provided with cells having memory effect and to obtain the halftone of picture by modulation at light radiation period. SOLUTION: This device controls a picture display screen having cells arranged in columns and rows and such a form that it is operated in a OFF state or an ON state where each cell is operated and light is generated. This method is to operate cells of each column during each part period having order of distribution of each part period being different between two successive columns and different duration time. Consequently, amplitude of variation of a load constituted with cells in which these two successive columns are in a lighting state is reduced.
