摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical branching module which has a demultiplexing function to multiplex the light of different wavelengths and branching and coupling functions capable of making bidirectional transmission and is easy to assemble by constituting the demultiplexing function in an optical fiber section and the branching function in the packaging part of an optical semiconductor element. SOLUTION: The wavelength coupler 1 consists of the optical fiber 2 having a cut groove diagonally with the central axis and a wavelength filter inserted into this cut groove. The optical semiconductor element consists a pin photodiode 7 disposed on a substrate 5 adjacently to a semiconductor laser 6 disposed within a dent having a mirror finished surface-like slope on the silicon substrate and a half mirror 9 and reflection mirror 104 disposed in parallel thereabove. The coupler has the optical path in which the light emitted from the semiconductor laser 6 transmits the half mirror 9, is condensed by a lens 14, is reflected by a filter 3 and is inputted to the optical fiber 2 and the optical path in which the light outputted from the optical fiber 2 and reflected by the filter 3 is condensed by the lens 14, is reflected by the half mirror 9 and the reflection mirror 10 and is inputted to the pin photodiode 7.
