摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image material having good cutting property and curling property and to obtain a resin-coated paper base body for an image material for the print by controlling the thickness to be in a specified range and controlling the cutting index to have a specified value. SOLUTION: This base body for image material is used to obtain an image material having 195 to 250&mu;m thickness and >=1.3 cutting index (c-valve). The c-value is defined by c=10 &times; (inner bonding strength)<1/2> /(tear strength). The inner bonding strength and the tear strength are defined by the following method. The inner bonding strength is obtd. by measuring the inner bonding strength of an image material in the paper making direction of the paper matrix according to JAPAN TAPPI paper pulp testing method No.54-93 and then calculating in terms of the strength per unit area (cm<2> ). Prectically, to objective strength is obtd. by multiplying the inner bonding strength (kgf.cm) determined by the testing method above multiplied by 155. The tear strength is the force (gf) required to tear one sheet of the image material according to JIS P 8116.
