PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to simply execute an operation test in a short time by forming a test pattern for reflecting ultrasonic wave in a liquid tank for containing specimen. SOLUTION: A probe 3 is scanned by a scanner 4, a pulse signal from an ultrasonic wave transceiver 5 is applied to the probe 3, the ultrasonic pulse from the probe 3 is propagated through the water 2a in a water tank 2 and made incident on a specimen 1. The pulse is reflected by the damage in the specimen 1, received by the probe 3, converted into a reception signal, and input to a circuit 5. The output signal of the circuit 5 is converted to an image signal by an image processor 6, and the two-dimensional video in the specimen 1 is displayed on a display unit 7. At the time of testing the operation, the scanner 4 is driven in direction Z to bring the focus of the probe 3 into coincidence with the bottom of the tank 2, the scanner 4 is then driven in X and Y directions, the focus of the probe 3 is two-dimensionally scanned along the bottom of the tank 2, and the video of a test pattern 9 is displayed on the unit 7. Thus, whether the apparatus is normally operated or not can be visually inspected. |
