PDS TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means that transfers management information unique to the passive double star(PDS) transmission system between a master set and a slave set. SOLUTION: A period T generating counter 6 generates accurate period T information, a common management cell generating section 7 generates a prescribed number of common management cells every time the section 7 receives a period T notice and provides the output of the cells to a management cell buffer 9. A common management cell transmission control section 8 gives a management cell transmission instruction to the management cell buffer 9 and gives a common management cell insert instruction to a management cell insert section 4 when a time reaches a timing to send the common management cell or approaches thereto. Thus, the management cell insert section 4 sends the common management cell outputted from the management cell buffer in place of a main signal cell outputted from a PDS cell header addition section 3 to an electrooptic converter 5. The common management cell transmission control section 8 gives a cell wait instruction to a cell buffer 2 to give a wait time to a main signal cell for a required period.
