OPTICAL REPRODUCTION METHOD AND OPTICAL INFORMATION APPARATUS

A method of reproducing high-output signals from very small recording marks of high recording density. A beam of light (501) is intermittently applied to an optical recording member whose optical properties change by the irradiation, and signals obtained at two or more points in time by detecting reflection of the intermittent beam are input to a differential amplifier (503) to obtain a reproduction signal. According to this method, only the signal components obtained when the reflected beam changes by the irradiation are effectively detected, and thus very small recording information can be reproduced with high resolution. Because components other than changed can be suppressed, a high quality reproduction signal can be obtained.
