The invention describes a new method of rowing done by pushing and pulling, for the application of which a mechanism has been designed which takes straight-line reciprocating motion and converts them to rotation. The 1st stage of the motion is performed by pushing the hands and the feet while the body bends forwards at the end of which, the second stage, pulling, starts. This is repeated continuously. The forces act on an arm 8 which forces a push rod 3 to move back and forth and to which are anchored two chains in such a way as to always move in opposite directions and turn two rollers which are fixed to a hub forcing it to turn continuously. The method and mechanism can be used like motors and have many applications. |
