PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a micturition promoter, comprising an essence of a plant body of a plant belonging to the genus Kochia of the family Chenopodiaceae, having ultrahigh safety and mild actions and suitable for preventing the onset of diseases due to protracted micturition such as cardiac infarction. SOLUTION: This micturition promoter comprises an essence (preferably an aqueous extract) of a plant body (preferably a fruit) of a plant belonging to the genus Kochia of the family Chenopodiaceae. The objective promoter is preferably perorally administered in a daily dose for an adult of 100-10000mg divided in several portions. The essence is preferably obtained by a method for adding a solvent in an amount of 0.5-10 times based on the plant body thereto and immersing the plant body therein at ambient temperature for several days or at a temperature near the boiling point of the solvent for several hr. Although the objective promoter can be blended with a food composition, e.g., a candy, a food and drink, e.g., a juice or a medicinal composition, e.g. a tablet, the promoter is preferably blended in the food and drink composition. The amount thereof blended is preferably 5-30wt.% based on the composition. |
