New compounds derived from 1H-imidazole-2-methanol Comprises new compounds derived from 1H-imidazole-2- methanol of general formula I: <IMAGE> where R1 means hydrogen or a cycloalkyl group whose number of carbon atoms is between 6 and 10, both inclusive, and R2 means hydrogen, halogen, an alkoxy group having a maximum number of carbon atoms of 4, or a cycloalkyl group whose number of carbon atoms lies between 6 and 10, both inclusive, provided that one of the two substitutents R1 or R2 must always be the specified cycloalkyl group, and their pharmaceutically acceptable addition salts. These compounds are of potential use in the treatment of diseases produced by anaerobic micro-organisms in man and animals.
