Process for the extension of corrosion prevention treatment for braided steel cables which have a layer of zinc originating from the zinc plating or galvanizing of the wires forming the cable. Corrosion resistant properties without loss of mechanical properties are achieved by depositing a layer of chromium-silicon, and passing the cable through the following steps in the process: degreasing, drainage, washing, neutralizing, chromium plating, drainage, washing in silica solution, sealing, drainage and drying. Likewise the cable can be subjected to a lubrication process after the corrosion prevention treatment. |
