<p>1-Amino-1-cyanamido-2,2-dicyanoethylene, sodium salt is prepared by a process which comprises reacting malononitrile with sodium dicyanamide at an elevated temperature and in the presence of an aprotic, dipolar solvent. The subject compound is useful as an intermediate to prepare substituted pyrimidines.</p> |
