Stitching device for fastening stack-shaped sheets

The device comprises a slider (4) which has a support (13) and a reversing device (14). The slider is spring-loaded on a control cam (8d) of the drive (8). The slider moves parallel to the stitching direction (A) and has two spaced parallel clamping faces (4d,e). A fixed and a swivelling clamping element (19) is associated to the clamping faces. The clamping element consists of two parallel clamp jaws (19c,d) which have edges (19e,f). The distance between the clamp jaws is slightly bigger than the distance between clamp faces.
