The hand drive attachment has a forked guide frame mounted on the existing steering stem and carrying a pair of vertically reciprocating hand actuated levers (1,1a). The levers are attached via bars (3,3a) to a crank mounted on the steering tube. Each link has a bearing case (2,2a) carrying a handgrip (5,5a) with each lower part of the respective case connected to the drive bar and to the crank (4). The latter drives the rear wheel via a short chain to a sprocket (6) to which a drive chain to the pedal sprocket is attached.
