A method of artificially changing the composition of the phospholipid produced by host cells, which comprises transforming the cells with a recombinant DNA that has antisense genes of a phospholipase D gene, the antisense genes hybridizing with a mRNA of the phospholipase D gene in the host cell to thereby generate a mRNA which inhibits the expression of the phospholipase D genes, and that expresses the antisense genes in the cells. The invention provides a recombinant DNA that has antisense genes of a phospholipase D gene, the antisense genes hybridizing with a mRNA of the phospholipase D gene in the host cell to thereby generate a mRNA which inhibits the expression of the phospholipase D genes, and that expresses the antisense genes in the cells.
|
