PURPOSE:To improve electromagnetic conversion characteristics and traveling property from low temp. to high temp. by incorporating a specified diketone into a magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic recording medium has a magnetic layer comprising a ferromagnetic powder dispersed in a binder, formed on a nonmagnetic supporting body, and diketone expressed by formula I is incorporated into the magnetic layer. Thereby, the obtd. medium has higher electromagnetic conversion characteristics and traveling property from low temp. to high temp. In the formula, R1, R2 are satd. or unsatd. chain aliphatic hydrocarbon groups of 5 - 23 carbon number, and R3 is sat. divalent hydrocarbon group of 1 - 3 carbon number. |
