PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make possible a high numerical aperture, high picture quality and a low reflectance. SOLUTION: A back light 14 is arranged on a counter substrate 12 side, and an image display is performed by outgoing light 16 outgoing from an array electrode 1 side. Further, a gate electrode, a source electrode 5 and a drain electrode 6 are arranged on the counter electrode 12 side than a semiconductor layer 4, and the semiconductor layer 4 is light shielded by these three electrodes. For light shielding external light incident on an array substrate, and for light shielding light come-off due to space between the gate electrode 2, the source electrode 5 and the drain electrode 6 and a pixel electrode, 7 and orientation disturbance in a liquid crystal layer 10 in the vicinity of them, a light shielding layer 20 is formed on the array substrate 1 so as to cover the gate electrode 2, the source electrode 5, the drain electrode 6 and the space between them and the pixel electrode 7. |
