PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a redox flow battery whose electric current efficiency and electric power efficiency are enhanced and which has battery performance extremely excellent in a long-term charge discharge cycle characteristic. SOLUTION: In this battery, a diaphragm is composed of an ion exchange membrane to satisfy the following condition (1), and electrolyte to satisfy a condition (2) is used as a positive electrode liquid and a negative electrode liquid. (1) As a repetitive unit, at least a polymer thin film by cross-linking halogenated alkylate of an aromatic polyfulfone type polymer containing (I) --SO--O-expressed by a formular by polyamine is contained as a ion exchange body layer. (2) The vanadium ion concentration is 0.5 to 8 mole/liter.
