<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a paper jam which occurs during a period when a cut sheet is returned to the interior of a cut sheet tray by spreading a cover member over an area where the paper jam is likely to occur during a process of returning the cut sheet. SOLUTION: A chaser lever 34 with a pair of arms 36, 38 and plural guide arms 44, 46, 48 is provided on a cut sheet feed tray 10 through gyrating center parts 40, 42. This chaser lever 34 is energized by a spring 52 and covers the tip edge of a laminate of cut sheets 12 which remain in the cut sheet feed tray 10, the with guide arms 44, 46, 48 during a process in which the cut sheet 12 is returned to a position in the cut sheet feed tray 10. In addition, when operating a picker roller 24 to discharge a new cut sheet 12 from the laminate, a solenoid is started to rotate the chaser lever 34 and disengage the guide arms 44, 46, 48 from a sheet passage. Thus it is possible to prevent a paper jam from occurring when returning the cut sheet 12.</p> |
