<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen temperature change in a battery jar through the endothermic reaction of endothermic/exothermic substance in the case of the occurrence of heating so as to extend a cycle life characteristic and a trickle life characteristic by arranging the endothermic/exothermic substance in the battery jar in a sealed lead-acid battery. SOLUTION: In a sealed lead-acid battery, endothermic/exothermic substance, which is electrochemically inactive in a sulfuric acid acidic condition and within a using temperature range of a battery, changes accompanied by endothermic reaction by temperature rise in the using temperature range of the battery, and simultaneously changes accompanied by exothermic reaction by temperature fall in the using temperature range, is arranged in the battery jar. In this case, the endothermic/exothermic substance is arranged in the battery jar as a mat, is mixed into an electrolyte hold body to be arranged in the battery jar, or is mixed into an electrode plate to be arranged in the battery jar.</p> |
