<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the vol. of waste of an antimony-containing fire-retardant resin compsn. and to prevent the elution of antimony. SOLUTION: A product and production waste composed of a fire-retardant resin compsn. containing antimony, an antimony compd. and an inorg. filler are thermally decomposed at 500-950 deg.C in an oxygen concn. atmosphere capable of oxidatively decomposing the resin compsn. and a glass material or a vitrifying agent is added to the recovered thermally decomposed residue and the whole is heated and held within a temp. range from softening temp. or eutectic temp. to at most 950 deg.C to be vitrified and solidified to lower the elution amt. of antimony.</p> |
