Air duct, in particular for a motor vehicle, and method for mounting same

An air duct (1) that is exceptionally easy to install and may be sound-proofed simply and cheaply is disclosed. The duct (1) is made of a material flexible and resilient enough to enable said air duct to recover its original shape after it has been bent and inserted into a confined space and/or through narrow passages. The material may be polyethylene foam having an apparent density of 90-150 kg/m<3> and a thickness of 4-6 mm. The duct may be lined with a sound absorbing layer (8) and used wherever ducts need to be installed in confined spaces and/or inserted through narrow passages.
