A resin bearing seat crimped into a metallic housing (2) for a ball joint (1) includes first (30) and second (31) annular slide portions in its interior separated by a first annular groove (32). A second annular groove (27) in an exterior of the bearing seat forms, with the first annular groove (32), an elastic tip (33). The elastic tip (33) permits deformation of the second slide portion (31) partly into the first annular groove (32) to accommodate heavy loading without permanent deformation of the bearing seat. The second annular groove (27) separates first and second load-bearing portions (23,24) on the exterior of the bearing seat for contacting an inner surface of the housing (6). <IMAGE> |
