Hoistable assembly platform with two-way brake

An automotive drum brake (4) should be fitted between the towbar etc (2) and the platform (1) and the cable brake is operated by a handbrake pulley (11) which also presses the shoes onto the drum. The brake shoes can also be operated by an oil brake (6,7,8) installed in the platform (1), assisted by a shut-off valve in the brake oil line. The platform can be mounted on any type of vehicle crane or lightweight crane. The pulley (11) has to be operated to raise the cable in its protective tube for controlled or halted assembly movements or to position the platform to requirement. The brake pedal (8) is used to regulate or halt the two-way movement, and if the platform is to be arrested clear of rocking etc movement, depressing the pedal actuates the shut-off valve to cut off power oil.
