Protective grille with frame and parallel horizontal slats

The frame is made of bars (1) and has an opening covered in elongated, parallel, straight and preferably horizontal slats (2) forming air gaps between them. The ends of the slats are held by two opposite facing support frame bars. The lengthwise edges of each slat have a lengthwise groove (6,7) the openings of which face each other. Two spaced apart holder lugs (14) fit into the lengthwise grooves of each slat. Each slat can be expanded across its lengthwise extension so that after one groove as been suspended over the holder lugs, the other lengthwise groove is retained on the two holder lugs.
