PURPOSE:To correct picture distortion generated by the resistance component of a horizontal deflection coil by impressing a sawtooth signal on an S-character correction capacitor to supply a current for the S-character correction to a horizontal deflection current. CONSTITUTION:When a switching transister T is opened and closed by a drive pulse PH, the terminal voltage Ec of an S-character correction capacitor Cs to be charged and discharged by a deflection current iL is made into a parabolic waveform, and raster distortion is corrected. When a correction signal es comprising of the sawtooth waveform is supplied from a linear distortion correction circuit 10 to the S-character correction capacitor Cs, the terminal voltage Ec of the S-character correction capacitor Cs is modulated as shown with a dotted line. Consequently, the waveform of the deflection current iL supplied from the S-character correction capacitor Cs is made into the waveform of which inclination is emphasized at a trace end point and an action is executed in order to extend a right picture relatively to a left picture. Thus, the raster distortion as well as the linear distortion to be generated by the saturation of a circuit system are corrected. |
