PURPOSE:To provide a method for mending a lining glass layer and a mending apparatus therefor to form a mending layer having excellent corrosion resistance and smooth surface. CONSTITUTION:A 1st mending agent containing inorganic fine powder and a photo-excitation catalyst compound is applied to the damaged part and irradiated with ultraviolet rays to effect the reaction and solidification of the agent to form the 1st mending layer 4. A sheet material 11 having a mending liquid injection hole 12 and a mending liquid discharging hole 13 is fixed with a supporting frame 18 and a fixing means 19 in a state to cover the 1st mending layer 4 and form a closed space between the damaged part and the sheet material 11. An impregnation agent 17 containing a photo-excitation catalyst compound is poured into the space through the injection hole 12 and discharged through the discharging hole 13. The damaged part covered with the flowed down impregnation agent 17 is irradiated with ultraviolet rays to effect the reaction and solidification of the impregnation agent 17 and form the 2nd mending layer.
