PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the dimensional accuracy of a surface and prevent adhesion of paper powder and so on in a paper feeding roll, by providing a resin cord layer on the surface of a metallic core roll whose surface is roughened. SOLUTION: Shot blast processing is applied to the surface of a stainless shaft whose diameter is 12mm so that and a core roll having a degree of surface roughness Rz of 48μm is obtained. The surface of the core roll whose surface is roughened is coated with a silicone resin by spray coat. After the coated shaft is dried for 2 hours at room temperature, and heated for 1 hour at 150 deg.C so as to form a paper feeding roll. The degree of surface roughness Rz of the thus obtained paper feeding roll becomes in a range from 30 to 40μm. Also, the paper feeding roll has a high surface dimensional accuracy and excellent paper feeding characteristics without having a problem that paper powder and so on is adhered.
