PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively deal with the aging deterioration of an optical system or the irregularity of the permeability by providing control means for comparing the output of monitoring means during a specified period before a recording operation with device intrinsic data stored in storage means to control the light quantity of a light-emitting element in response to the comparison result. SOLUTION: A printer controller 1 bit map develops an image code transmitted from a host controller of an external equipment, and sends it to a printer engine as an image signal VDO (7..0) according to the image lock and synchronous signal sent from a printer engine 2. The engine 2 finishes the APC control prior to the printing operation, image modulation processes for switching a laser from the input signal VDO (7..0), exposes the photosensitive member surface to form an image, and prints to output it on a sheet. |
