The unipolar electrode cable has a distal end part (10) and incorporates an uninsulated, screwline wound electrical conductor (12), which extends from a contact pin at the proximal end of the cable forwards to electrical contact with a distal end electrode component (14). The windings of the wire are externally enclosed by an insulating casing (16) of e.g. silicon and limit internally a central channel (18) for insertion of a control wire (20). - The control wire has an elongated inner core (22) of electrically conductive material, e.g. stainless steel, and an external thin layer (24) of insulating material, e.g. a polymer such as PTFE. The distal end part (26) of the wire core is therefore free of insulating material in order to produce an electrical contact only with the end electrode component (14) and not with the wire conductor (12). |
