The injection valve comprises a tubular valve body (2) with an internal electromagnetic bobbin (5). The bobbin is connected to a magnetic sleeve (6) and a tubular plunger (7). The plunger is connected to a valve member (8) which selectively closes the valve body. Movement of the plunger is controlled by guide members, including a tubular guide sleeve (10). A first end (10a) of the sleeve extends towards the magnetic sleeve and a second end (10b), at which the plunger is located, projects beyond the magnetic sleeve. An elastic biassing spring (11) is located between the second end of the sleeve and a stop surface (7a) of the plunger.
