Appts. for concentrating and processing waste liq.

An appts. comprises a steam flow generator for concentrating the waste liq. and a mist separator. The mist separator has a porous film which transmits gas but not liq.; the waste liq. in the form of a steam flow is brought into contact with this film. The steam flow generator can be plumbed into the mist separator or it can be situated in the same container as the mist separator. In the latter case, a baffle plate is placed in a wall between the steam generator and the mist separator. The porous film can be a hollow film. The appts. also comprises a recycling system by which steam, not transmitted by the film, is redirected back to the mist separator. This recycling section contains a system that concentrates the mist steam. The pressure difference across the porous film is changeable. The appts. has tanks in which to store the sepd. clean water and the conc. waste water. Waste liq. from a nuclear power plant has a high electric conductivity, and in this application the appts. requires a steam flow generator suitable for waste liq. of high electric conductivity; otherwise the system is as usual.
