PURPOSE:To obtain the compound by a simple operation in a high yield by employing an amino compound having a specific group in the molecule as a raw material and using a crystalline metal silicate containing specific metals in a constant ratio as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:An easily available amine compound of formula I (R<1>-R<4> are each H, 1-4C alkyl) (especially, mono, di or triethanolamine, piperazine, ethylenediamine, etc., are preferable) is reacted in the presence of a catalyst containing a specific crystalline metal silicate to obtain a triethylene diamine compound of formula II or III. The catalyst used herein comprises the crystalline metal silicate comprising silicon dioxide and the oxide of a trivalent metal (especially the oxide of a metal such as Ga, B, Fe, Cr, Ti) excluding aluminum and having a ratio SiO2/M2O3 (M is metal) of 12 or more. Especially, a compound having the main cavity of a 10 oxygen-membered ring and having Ga as the trivalent metal is especially preferable as the crystalline metal silicate. |
