PURPOSE:To obtain a wiring board which can be sintered at a low temperature of 1000 deg.C or lower, whose crystallinity can be controlled easily, whose resistance to migration is excellent, whose dielectric constant is low and whose strength is high by a method wherein an insulating porcelain material composed of an alumina component and a glass component containing an alkaline earth metal oxide composed mainly of SrO is used. CONSTITUTION:This wiring board is composed of an insulating porcelain material which contains 30-50wt.% of alumina component and 70-50wt.% of a glass component where the glass component is composed of 46-60wt.% of SiO2, 0.5-5wt.% of B2O3, 6-17.5wt.% of Al2O3 and 25-45wt.% of an alkaline earth metal oxide whose at least 60wt.% is SrO. As the alkaline earth metal oxide in said glass component MgO, CaO, BaO and SrO can be enumerated; at least 60wt.%, preferably 80wt.% of more, of their total amount is to be SrO. When the amount is less than 60wt.%, a coefficient of thermal expansion cannot be matched and a difference in the coefficient of thermal expansion between SrO and the alumina component becomes large; accordingly, a high- strength porcelain material cannot be obtained. |
